Pomegranate peels as natural tannins are yellow tannins also known as "ellagic tannins". This means when it is used as a mordant to pretreat the fabric it gives a slight yellowish base, which influences the dye colour outcome. In case of turmeric peel dyes it shifted the yellows into a browner colour range. It performed the same colour and light fastness outcome just as gallnut extract treated textiles did.
